Fundraising event will feature farm-to-table meal served at longest dinner table in Buffalo, in middle of Ellicott Street

This Saturday, Sept. 14, Kevin Guest House will host “Supper in the Street” – a first-of-its-kind fundraising event featuring the longest dinner table in Buffalo, in the middle of Ellicott Street. The table will accommodate nearly 400 guests.

The sold-out event will feature a family-style dinner prepared by Private Knives Catering, featuring locally grown produce donated by Oles Family Farm. Additional products by Costanzo’s Bakery, Russell’s Steak, Chops & More, Rich Products & drinks by FIFCO, Flying Bison, Amherst Wine & Liquor, Pepsi Bottling Co., Buffalo Distilling Co. and Belt Line Brewery & Kitchen.

A press release said, “ ‘Supper in the Street’ brings our nightly volunteer led-dinners, a favorite experience for our KGH guests, from our dining room to the greater community at large. VIP ticketholders will also enjoy tastings from chef/owner James Roberts of Dobutsu and Toutant, and samples from Town Branch Bourbon, Moët & Chandon and Grapevine d’Vine Winey.”

All proceeds will benefit Kevin Guest House and its mission to provide a comfortable and supportive home away from home for patients and their families traveling to Buffalo for medical care.

“Kevin Guest House has always been committed to providing the comforts of hospitality, communal meals and accommodation for patients and their families,” said Lynsey Weaver, executive director of Kevin Guest House. “Through this special event, we are sharing this spirit of breaking bread with our neighbors, on the largest scale possible. We thank our team, volunteers and sponsors for their investment in making this a unique experience that will help support our ongoing work.”

Karen Fashana, co-creator of “Supper in the Street,” said, “My husband and I came up with the idea after serving a meal as a volunteer to the patients and caregivers staying at Kevin Guest House and seeing how wonderful a homecooked meal meant to the families needing to be close to the hospital for their loved ones. We thought what better way to exemplify one of the favorite parts of Kevin Guest House for guests and volunteers and create one long dinner table that the community can experience the same thing in the middle of the street.”

As part of event accommodations, Ellicott Street, between High and Carlton, will close at 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, and reopen at 9 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 15. Transportation network Lyft will be providing attendees with discounted rides through the code SUPPERSTREET19, and the Allen Street NFTA station is directly behind the KGH campus.

Kevin Guest House thanks all event sponsors including the Buffalo Sabres, Sinatra & Company and Penn Power Systems (Platinum); Berardi Immigration Law, Buffalo Lodging Associates, ACV Auctions and Kaleida Health (Gold); and Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus, Phillips Lytle LLP, BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York, Singer Legal PLLC, and Linde (Silver); and 19 IDEAS, Ashland Pest Control, Balanced Bright Life, Bank on Buffalo, Buffalo Spree, Business First, Delta Sonic, Evans Bank, Maureen’s Buffalo Wholesale Flower Market, Ferguson Electric, and Rich Products (Bronze).
