Six new, distinguished student scholarship recipients will be showcased at the annual Niagara County Community College Foundation Scholarship Gala on Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute.

This award is the most prestigious scholarship offered by the NCCC Foundation to incoming freshman. It provides two years of tuition-free education to deserving students. Individuals are selected based on their academic excellence, service to the community, and loyalty to Niagara County.

“I would like to take the time to thank the donors and scholarship committee for considering me for this award,” said Allura, a 2019 Distinguished Student Scholar recipient.

Erika, another recipient said, “It is an honor to accept this award. You have played a major role in the course of my life as this will positively impact me for years to come.”

During the 2018-19 academic year, over $175,000 was awarded to nearly 200 deserving students. Visit the NCCC website at www.niagaracc.suny.edu/scholarships for a full listing of available scholarships.

The deadline to apply for spring 2020 is Friday, Oct. 4.

In addition to private and corporate donations, the annual NCCC Foundation Scholarship Gala – the single largest fundraiser for student scholarships – also supports scholarship opportunities.

The event will take place at the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute. Tickets are $125 per person. NCCC culinary and baking and pastry arts students will prepare sweet and savory dishes from around the world. To purchase tickets or make reservations, visit the NCCC Foundation website at http://www.niagaracc.suny.edu/foundation/gala.php or call the office at 716-614-5910.
