Town of Porter thanked for successful veterans outreach program

Arthur Lawson, mayor of the Village of Wilson, met recently with the Porter Town Board to express his thanks to the town on behalf of the New York State Division of Veterans Services.

Lawson, who works full-time with the state agency, approached the Town of Porter earlier this year for its assistance in presenting a veterans outreach program intended to promote the wide variety of service programs available to rural vets in Niagara County. The June program held at Porter Town Hall exceeded expectations, with a number of agencies present, and more than 80 veterans attending.

In the photo, Lawson presents a certificate of appreciation to Town of Porter Supervisor John “Duffy” Johnston. Joining them are Deputy Supervisor Jeff Baker (left) and town council members Irene Myers and Larry White. (Submitted photos)
