The Buffalo History Museum will host homeschool classes starting the week of Sept. 16. Two series of classes will be available from 1-3 p.m. Monday and Thursdays.

Monday classes will focus on the early origins of humanity for students in the academic ages of fourth through sixth grade and include lessons, objects from the museum’s collection, and activities to reinforce lessons.

New this year to the Monday series, the museum will offer a book club that runs from 12:30-1 p.m. and features discussion of previously assigned books or readings. The book club is available exclusively for participants who register for the full Monday series.

Thursday classes will focus on the Antebellum Era (including the lead up to and the Civil War itself), for students in the high school age range, and includes lessons, speech analysis discussion, and primary source research.

Individual classes and the total series prices are available: Cost for the series is $90 for museum members or $100 for general admission. Individual classes are $12 general. Museum members receive an 18% discount per class. Monday book club is an additional fee of $45.

Advance registration is strongly encouraged and can be made online at www.buffalohistory.org through the calendar of events, or by contacting Megan MacNeill, program and engagement manager, at 716-873-9644, ext. 320, or [email protected].
