The Niagara County Department of Health will hold its second annual Community Resource Fair from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14 (rain or shine). The event will take place in the front of the Trott Access Center at 1001 11th St., Niagara Falls.

There will be approximately 30 vendors presenting at the resource fair, some of which include representatives from Cornell Cooperative Extension, Independent Living of Niagara, Planned Parenthood, Catholic Charities, Fidelis Care, BlueCross BlueShield, Oishei Children’s Hospital, Eastern Niagara Hospital, NFMMC, YMCA and YWCA, Inter-Community Services Food Pantry and Clothes Closet, Alzheimer’s Association, Elderwood Health Plan, Girl Scouts of WNY and the Niagara County Sheriff’s car seat safety check.

The goal of the resource fair is to make the public aware of resources available to participants and to come together as a community.

"If you are looking for local agencies that can help with nutrition, sexual health, mental health, substance use, physical activity, child development, health insurance, legal services or safety issues, we hope you’ll come and speak with caring professionals that can provide guidance, resources or referrals. As it did last year, we hope it will again bring the community together in a positive way," said Kris Wolf, public health nurse.

Vendors will have information available about their agency and programs; and there will be games and prizes as well. Wolf added, “Come spin the wheel!”

During the resource fair, visitors are welcome to visit the Niagara County Department of Health’s Sexual Health Center Clinic for testing and information on PrEP as HIV prevention.

For further information, call the nursing division at 716-278-1900.
