'Trucks at the Tracks' happy hour planned for Niagara Falls Train Station

The public is invited to eat, drink, dance and mingle at the first “Trucks at the Tracks” happy hour celebration from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, outside the Niagara Falls Train Station (825 Depot Ave. W.). The event will feature local food trucks Dirty Bird Chicken-n-Waffles, Ms. Judi’s International Cravings and Steaksters. Mackinali’s Café & Bake Shop will also be on hand selling desserts. The Downtown Niagara Falls Business Association (DNFBA) will provide Beer and wine sales, with music by Premier Sound. 

Guests will have the opportunity to tour the Underground Railroad Heritage Center, located inside the train station, and meet the artists who are designing the 10 new public art murals on the adjacent Main Street and Depot Avenue.

“This is the first time the DNFBA has teamed up with the City of Niagara Falls to help host an evening food truck event at the train station,” said Chris MacKendrick, DNFBA chairperson. “We look forward to welcoming a large crowd.”

The “Trucks at the Tracks” happy hour was championed by Allen Booker, acting director of business development for the City of Niagara Falls. He manages the weekly “Food Truck Thursdays” lunchtime series, which is now in its second year. After several guests suggested an evening event at the same location, “Trucks at the Tracks” was planned to host a larger number of food trucks than the lunchtime series.

Booker noted that, if this event proves popular, there will be plans to host similar happy hour events in the future.

In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved inside the train station.

No tickets are necessary and free parking is available on site. Guests may also choose to ride the complimentary Discover Niagara Shuttle, which makes a stop at the Niagara Falls Train Station.
