On Friday, Aug. 9, world-renowned tintype photographer Rob Gibson will demonstrate and discuss the wet plate process and his work on historic film and TV productions including “National Treasure,” “Cold Mountain,” “Gettysburg” and the upcoming feature film “Harriet,” the story of American icon Harriet Tubman.
The event will take place at 2 p.m. at The Niagara History Center, 215 Niagara St., Lockport. Gibson will arrive on his antique Harley Davidson with a unique darkroom sidecar where he processes his photographs.
Gibson grew up in Lockport, but now resides in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. He has appeared in dozens of television and motion pictures and has lectured at the Smithsonian and the White House press corps.
