This Friday night at Ransomville Speedway, the JetPort Lounge & Restaurant, Lazy Lakes Camping Resort, Sunflowers of Sanborn and Rutland Corwin Funeral Home present a full card of racing, including the third annual John Susice Memorial Race for the street stocks.

The John Susice Memorial pays tribute to the former street stock supporter, mechanic and engine builder who passed away in February 2017. He was also the uncle of former Modified track champion Ryan Susice.

Susice’s family helped to add money to the purse for Friday’s race, as well as contingency awards. The third edition of the John Susice Memorial will pay $750 to win, $450 for second and $350 for third, with a minimum of $75 to take the green flag.

Current Ki-Po Chevrolet Street Stock points leader Cory Sawyer is the defending winner of the event. Canadian Rob Murray won the inaugural edition of the race in 2017.

The John Susice Memorial will also be the second round in the Ransomville/Humberstone Can-Am Thunder Stock Challenge Series. Dave Bailey of Hagersville, Ontario, won the first race of the series back on May 26 at Humberstone Speedway.

The Krown Undercoating 358 Modifieds, Investor’s Service Sportsman, Gippster’s Collision Mini Stocks and Stevenson’s Hardware Novice Sportsman will also be in action on Friday. Pit gates will open at 5 p.m. with grandstands opening at 6 p.m. Racing starts at 7:15 p.m. Grandstand admission is $15 for adults, $13 for seniors and students (ages 13-17 with valid school ID), and $8 for children ages 9-12. Kids ages 8 and under are free. Pit admission is $27 for member, or $32 for non-member.

Opened in 1958, Ransomville Speedway is located on Braley Road in the hamlet of Ransomville. “The Big R” is a 3/8-mile DIRTcar-sanctioned facility that is the home of the Summer Nationals. For more information, visit www.ransomvillespeedway.com.
