Art is returning to Lockport this weekend with Lockport’s seventh annual Sweet Chalk Festival (July 13-14). Professional and student artists will use the municipal parking lots at Pine and Main streets as their canvases.
This is a free event sponsored by Lockport Public Arts Council. “Little chalkers” are encouraged to draw, and everyone will be able to mark up the “Chalk Van.”
Sweet Chalk Festival’s organizer, Ellen Martin, said, “This is such a fun weekend in Lockport. Between Sweet Chalk, the ‘Lockport in Bloom’ garden tour and ‘Footloose the Musical’ playing at the Palace Theater, there truly is something for everyone.”
