Niagara Falls City Councilman Chris Voccio will lead a Niagara River Gorge hike at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 13.
Hikers will meet Voccio at the main shelter of Whirlpool State Park. The hike will lead down into the gorge to the flat rocks area on the lower Niagara River, below Whirlpool State Park.
Voccio said the route is arduous and only for those in good physical condition. Hikers should wear comfortable footwear with a good tread and bring water and sun protection.
