The Chromatic Club of Buffalo will hold its spring concert on Sunday, May 5, at the First Presbyterian Church of Lewiston, 505 Cayuga St. The event will begin at 3 p.m., and refreshments will be served following the performance of classical music and show tunes.

The Chromatic Club, founded in 1898, promotes and encourages the study, performance and appreciation of music by providing opportunities for musical growth of members and enriching the artistic climate of the community. It supports and encourages student and collegiate members, vocalists and instrumentalists with scholarships for college and summer study.

Each level of membership will be represented during the concert with performers from the active, connection, student and collegiate levels.

The Club sponsored the first professional orchestra concert in the City of Buffalo, an event that led directly to the creation of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. The group was also involved in founding the Western New York Community Music School.

Local musicians participating in the concert include Robert Hull, renowned Western New York organist and choral and music director for the First Presbyterian Church of Lewiston; and Claudia Andres, keyboard musician and vocalist, Wilson High School vocal and music academics teacher, and former choral and music director for the First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown.

Open to the public, there will be a free-will offering to help support the Chromatic Club scholarship program.

Parking is available in front of the church on Cayuga Street and in a large lot behind the building.
