Buffalo City Mission hosts annual Easter community meal for Buffalo's homeless community

Staff and volunteer partners collaborate to serve meals, music & keepsake gifts for individuals in need

On Tuesday, the Buffalo City Mission fed hungry and hurting Western New Yorkers at an annual Easter community meal. Buffalo City Mission staff, donors and volunteers provided the meal and keepsake gifts for guests as part of the celebration’s goal to instill renewal and hope in the hearts of those in need, and those who otherwise may not have access to an Easter celebration.

The City Mission thanked all of the donors who gave and assisted in providing meals, gifts, flowers and music to once again make the celebration a success.

“While the spring season represents a special time of new beginnings, many in this community continue to face hardship, challenges and loss,” said Aubrey Calhoun, associate executive director of the Buffalo City Mission. “Our Easter community meal offers good food and fellowship for every individual that comes through our doors. We are incredibly grateful to our staff and volunteers for their support in serving up the spirit of Easter for all.”

The Buffalo City Mission, founded in 1917, is a nonprofit organization providing preventative, emergency, and transitional housing programs to thousands of people who are homeless and impoverished every year.
