Niagara County History Center's March Family Night is Irish-themed

The Niagara History Center’s March Family Night theme is “Irish in Niagara County.” Guests can celebrate and learn about the accomplishments of Irish residents including boxer Jimmy Duffy; Chauncey Olcott, the composer of “My Irish Rose”; Mary Ellen Powers, “The tallest woman in the world”; Mary Macaulay, the first woman telegrapher; and Frank Gaffney, the second-most-decorated soldier in World War I. A family activity related to the theme will follow.

Admission to Family Night is free. An optional pizza supper is served at 5:30 p.m. for a nominal donation. The program follows.

 Family Nights are open to all, regardless of residency. The series of free-admission monthly programs and activities is designed for families, but adults without children are welcome, too. Each night has a theme based upon history that happened in Niagara County, expressed through activities all ages can share and enjoy.
