Jowdy seeks re-election as Cambria town justice

Amel S. Jowdy Jr. has announced he is seeking re-election to the office of town justice in the Town of Cambria.

He is active in the Niagara County Magistrates’ Association, having served as its president, vice president and treasurer. Jowdy is also active in the New York State Magistrates Association, having served as a director and president. He currently serves on the board of directors as a past president and board life member.

In 2017, he received the prestigious Eugene Salisbury Magistrates of the Year Award.

Other activities include serving as past president of the Niagara County Judges and Police Conference and as an assistant director of the National Judges Association.

Jowdy is retired after working 42 years with the Cambria Water and Waste Water Department. He is currently treasurer of the Western New York Water Works Conference.

He and his wife reside on Church Road. They have three children and five grandchildren.
