Gingerbread Wonderland at NF Culinary Institute

Wed, Nov 21st 2018 12:30 pm
The Niagara Falls Culinary Institute will open its doors to a world of sweet holiday wonder this weekend. Starting at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, the public is invited to view the life-sized gingerbread village created by baking and pastry arts students and chefs of the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute.
The second floor of the Culinary Institute is taken over by the massive gingerbread village, created from more than 5,000 pounds of gingerbread and 2,000 pounds of icing. This annual holiday tradition creates a festive environment for the whole family with live entertainment, cookie decorating, children's crafts, culinary demonstrations, visits with Santa and much more.
Nov. 30 features the first-ever Festival of Slice, where attendees can enjoy $1 slices of pizza and vote on their favorite Niagara Falls pizzeria. That same weekend provides an opportunity to see the decorated gingerbread houses submitted in the gingerbread competition sponsored by Delaware North, and even a chance to take home a piece of the fun by bidding in the silent auction. A toy train show is scheduled for the weekend of Dec. 15 and 16, and a magic show will be featured on Dec. 22.
The Niagara Falls Culinary Institute is located at 28 Old Falls St., Niagara Falls. Gingerbread Wonderland will be open on weekends beginning Nov. 24 through Dec. 22. The hours are 5 Fridays 8 p.m. Fridays; 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturdays; and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays.
