The Niagara Falls Peacemakers will respond to the needs of the people by holding free kids' coat drive, in partnership with Dream Homes Property Management, City of Niagara Falls Youth Director Sanquin Starks and Cameron's Transport. More than 150 coats will be distributed from 11 a.m. to noon this Saturday at True Bethel Baptist Church, 1112 South Ave., Niagara Falls. One coat per child will be given; each child must be present to receive a coat.
The Niagara Falls Peacemakers are a group of concerned citizens that is bipartisan, multiracial, religiously inclusive and multigenerational.
A press release stated, "Responding to the needs of the people is more than just a tagline but a lifestyle. We are here as a resource to the community and we look forward to building positive relationships with the community."
This is just the start for the Peacemakers holiday season giveaways. The group is currently seeking donations for its first Christmas giveaway. Items and names of families in need have been submitted to the group. Members are looking for help from the community. Needed items include toiletries, kids and adult winter clothes, and pantry items. For the full list, can visit the group's website at www.noahniagara.org/nfpeacemakers.
Donations can be dropped off at the office located in the Niagara Business Center, 1625 Buffalo Ave., Suite 2H, Niagara Falls, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday or Thursday. Alternative hours for drop-off or to be picked up from the donor are available by calling or texting 716-264-3922. If any resident or business is interested in making a monetary donation, this can be done online at www.noahniagara.org/nfpeacemakers or by check to Niagara Organizing Alliance for Hope. Specify on the memo line the purpose of the donation (e.g. "Peacemakers Christmas").
NOAH is the fiscal sponsor for the Niagara Falls Peacemakers. Annual tax receipts will be sent to all our donors at the beginning of 2019.
