Chet Fery will present his program, "Kindness Changes Everything," at the Niagara History Center at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15. The venue is located at 215 Niagara St., Lockport.
Fery is the founder of "Bread Time Stories and More." He is often referred to as "The Bread Man." Fery has given away more than 85,000 loafs in the past 16 years, and generated over 100 inspirational "Bread Time Stories," which he shares with audiences across Western New York. Fery said he believes in promoting kindness and believes the world can be changed "one loaf at a time; one act of kindness at a time."
A former teacher, counselor and school administrator, Fery now devotes most of his time and effort to this cause. He holds three master's degrees and is a self-proclaimed "lifelong learner."
He grew up in Buffalo's Kaisertown neighborhood, and learned the importance of community and compassion from his parents and grandparents.
In this hourlong presentation, Fery will share his "Bread Time Stories," conduct a bread-making lesson, and provide each of the audience members with a loaf of bread and a recipe. In addition to the stories and recipes, Fery will provide baking tips and advice on sharing one's talents with others.
This event is free and open to the public. Reservations are required. For more information, call the History Center at 716-434-7433.
