Thank-A-Vet outreaches encourage Erie County veterans to sign up to receive discounts from more than 1,400 businesses
Erie County Clerk Mickey Kearns is inviting Erie County veterans to his next Thank-A-Vet discount program. The outreach will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Oct. 17, at the VFW Post 9249, 2121 Grand Island Blvd.
To sign up, a veteran must bring the original copy of their military discharge papers to put on file with the clerk's office. Discharge papers will be immediately returned to the veteran.
Erie County veterans are welcome to come learn more about this program and the businesses that offer discounts when presented a photo ID Thank-A-Vet card. Staff from the Erie County clerk's office will be on hand to process veterans' information for their card, which will be mailed to attendees.
The clerk's office provides Thank A Vet registration services from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays at 92 Franklin St., Buffalo. For more information, call 716-858-4737.
