Porter book signing for 'Johnnie's Adventures'

A book signing for "Johnnie's Adventures: Germans Coming to America" will take place from 1-3 p.m. Saturday at the Town of Porter Historical Museum (Red Brick Village Center second floor), 240 Lockport St.
This historical narrative is based on the true story of Johann Friedrich Diez to America and the Town of Porter in 1867. The book is a collaboration by Youngstown artist Lucy Vine; translator Anika Fetzner; BeauDesigns, publisher of regional and local history books; and historian Suzanne Simon Dietz.
The cost of the book is $12. On display will be the "bottle warmer" brought across the Atlantic. Apples from one of the original five Diez farms also will be provided.
