Niagara University and Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center on Wednesday launched a new partnership to improve educational opportunities for registered nurses by offering NU School of Nursing credit courses on the medical center's downtown campus. The courses will enable registered nurses enrolled as students to earn a Bachelor of Science in nursing degree.
The university is also making nursing classes available online to nurses enrolled in the program.
A cohort of 11 nurses from Memorial and other area hospitals began their studies with classes in foundations of professional nursing and health assessment and promotion. They were welcomed by Niagara University School of Nursing Director Fran Crosby, Ed.D., R.N.
Niagara University will provide faculty members to teach the program's courses and will work with the medical center to identify opportunities for case studies, research projects, guest speakers and other resources to enhance students' learning experiences.
