On Wednesday, June 13 (3 p.m.), the public is invited to join Niagara Falls Community Development Department, the Niagara Falls City School District and New York State Heath Foundation for the announcement of the 2018 "Summer In Your City" event series. The event will take place at Hyde Park Stone Room (inside the Hyde Park Ice Pavilion) 911 Robbins Drive.
The "Summer In Your City" series features four months of free outdoor fitness session; movie nights; science technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM) workshops; school district-developed physical education curriculum for city parks; a birthday party for Nikola Tesla; physical mobility training for children/families with special needs; a Go Bike Buffalo slow roll; and a color run in city parks throughout Niagara Falls.
In all, the series will include more than 60 events designed for local children, families and residents from July to October.
The New York State Health Foundation, a private foundation dedicated to improving the health of all New Yorkers, is the series' primary sponsor, with additional financial support from National Grid.
"The City of Niagara Falls is excited to announce 'Summer In Your City' as a dynamic addition to our community without reliance on taxpayer dollars alone," said Seth Piccirillo, director of community development.
