Daybreak TV Productions of the Catholic Diocese of Buffalo has Christmas programming that will air on local television in the coming days.
On Sunday, Dec. 17, a diocesan Christmas special, hosted by the Rev. Paul Seil and the Most Rev. Richard J. Malone, will air at 1 p.m. on WKBW-TV Channel 7. The 30-minute show will feature candy-making with the Rev. David Richards, pastor of Our Lady of Pompeii Parish, Lancaster; and Seil's chat with Steven Nichols, captain of community policing/special events for the Buffalo Police Department, who discusses what it is like to be in law enforcement at Christmas time.
There are also comments from students at Catholic Academy of West Buffalo and Hilbert Helpers, a group of volunteers from Hilbert College, Hamburg. Viewers also will get a quick look into Puerto Rican culture with residents from Puerto Rico who moved to Buffalo following Hurricane Maria. The show closes with Christmas messages from past Buffalo bishops, Edward D. Head, Henry J. Mansell and Edward U. Kmiec, as well as a message from the current shepherd, Bishop Malone.
Malone will celebrate the fourth Sunday of Advent in the Our Lady Chapel of St. Joseph Cathedral, Buffalo. The Mass will air on Sunday, Dec. 24, at 7:30 a.m. on WUTV Fox 29.
The "Come Let Us Adore Him" Christmas Mass will be shown on Christmas Day, Monday, Dec. 25, at 6 a.m. on Channel 7. This Mass was taped in 2016 and aired nationally on ABC-TV affiliates throughout the country. Malone celebrates Mass with the Gloria Deo Chorus in the Our Lady Help of Christians chapel and shrine in Cheektowaga.
