Pro Training Basketball Inc. is set to open its doors on Saturday, Sept. 2, at 3790 Commerce Court, Suite 100.
The company, headed by Tony Watson II, is inviting the public to come and see what the new facility has in store.
The day will begin with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11 a.m., followed by a basketball clinic at noon for boys and girls ages 15 and under. The event will run until 3 p.m., with various contests, prize giveaways, food trucks and closing remarks.
Watson, alongside his partner, Rod Middleton, played basketball for the University at Buffalo and spent time overseas playing professionally before becoming professional trainers.
Watson said basketball is "the only thing I know," and he explained he wants to give kids proper guidance and teach them how to play the game the right way.
Watson said he specializes in basketball training, while Middleton specializes in strength and agility.
"I want to give kids a home where they can train, work on athleticism and skills to their game," Watson said. "We're the first to offer all the assets that kids need to play."
Watson added the facility isn't limited to just basketball. He welcomed people of all ages to come in and train.
For the month of September, Watson said the rates to the facility will be discounted as a grand-opening special. Individual workouts will cost $20, while group workouts will cost $10.
