Grand Island: Comprehensive plan meeting Aug. 9

Sat, Aug 5th 2017 06:55 am
The Town of Grand Island will hold a kickoff meeting to discuss the update to the 1998 comprehensive plan.
The comprehensive plan is a community-driven document that provides guidance on future policies, projects, and actions for various aspects of the town including, but not limited to, neighborhoods and housing, recreation, infrastructure, economic development, municipal relations, Grand Island Boulevard/town center, and zoning. The planning process involves community outreach, data collection and analysis of the current state of the town, development of a townwide vision, goals and strategies to attain them, and regular meetings and discussion with the Long Range Planning Committee.
The meeting will be on Aug. 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Grand Viking Theater of Grand Island High School, 1100 Ransom Road.
For more information on the project, check the town website, www.gigov.com.
