Fourth of July fireworks schedule

This year, a number of communities are getting ready for the Fourth of July with annual fireworks celebrations and events. Many have scheduled fireworks and other forms of entertainment, including the Village and Town of Lewiston, City of North Tonawanda, the towns of Wilson, Wheatfield, Niagara and Grand Island, and the City of Niagara Falls.
•In Lewiston, there will be fireworks beginning at dusk on Tuesday, July 4, at Artpark, located at 450 S. Fourth St.
The rain date is Wednesday.
•North Tonawanda will hold its fireworks celebration on Tuesday, July 4. The display can be viewed beginning at dusk at Gratwick Riverside Park and at Niawanda Park in Tonawanda.
•In Wilson, there will be a July Fourth Festival at the fairgrounds on Lake Street. Included will be a barbecue cookout at 2 p.m., with fireworks at the grandstand area of the fairgrounds around 9 p.m.
•Wheatfield will hold its event at Oppenheim County Park on Tuesday, July 4. Featured will be music from a DJ starting at 6 p.m., and fireworks beginning at 9:45 p.m.
•In the Town of Niagara, fireworks will kick off at dusk on Sunday, July 2, in Veterans Memorial Community Park, 7000 Lockport Road.
•On Grand Island, Fantasy Island is holding fireworks shows from July 1-4, beginning at 10 p.m. each night.
Fantasy Island is located at 2400 Grand Island Blvd.
•Meanwhile, Niagara Falls will hold two events celebrating the Fourth of July. The Seneca Niagara Casino will have a fireworks display on Sunday, July 2, at 9:30 p.m. (Rain day: July 3.)
There will also be fireworks at Hyde Park on July 4 at dusk.
