Two separate Rotary Clubs in Buffalo-Niagara announce upcoming events for area residents.

Next weekend, the Lewiston/Niagara-on-the-Lake Rotary invites the community to partake in its "Pints! And Polish Platter!" A fundraiser to benefit the Autism Center and Women and Children's Hospital, the event will take place from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, April 22, at the Historic Gadawski's Restaurant, 1445 Falls St., Niagara Falls.

The affair will offer visitors pints of "amazing micro-brewery beer," along with an authentic polish platter and fresh placek and chrusciki. All this in the ambiance of the 1924-era Gadawski's.

The event serves as a way to continue Dyngus Day celebrations throughout the week.

Tickets are on sale for $25 for adults and $15 for children, and include the donation, raffle ticket and refreshments. Tickets can be purchased at Gadawski's, through L-NOTL Rotary members, via email at [email protected] or by calling 716-870-1307.

Come Saturday, April 29, the Grand Island Rotary invites all to partake in its "Best Day Ever at Niagara Falls" fundraiser.

Beginning at 10 a.m. and continuing until 5 p.m., attendees can experience a tour of Niagara Falls like never before. They will meet at the Niagara Falls Visitor Center, 6501 Niagara Falls Blvd., park free and enjoy a bus tour of the falls, with lunch included.

Featured will be visits to unique locations tourists don't see and what the GI Rotary calls "all the best Niagara stories" - from the early Falls explorers to such influential figures in the city's history as Nicola Tesla, Thomas Edison George Westinghouse and more, presented by experienced Falls guides.

Visitors will also enjoy a special ride on the Maid of the Mist as part of their "Best Day Ever" experience.

Guests will return at 5 p.m.

Donations have been furnished by the Maid of the Mist Steamship Co., Niagara Majestic and Grayline Tours of Niagara.

Tickets are on sale at $100 per person, with proceeds going to support the Grand Island Rotary high school scholarships and other service programs.

Spaces are limited, and reservations are requested. For details and to RSVP, contact Mike Heigel, president elect, GI Rotary, via email at [email protected] or call 716-912-7128.
