The Bellamy Brothers and John Conlee have a combined 27 No. 1 singles and more than 50 hits overall on the country charts. The country music legends will perform a free concert at the Erie County Fair at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10. The program will take place in the GUSTO Grandstand as part of the National Grid Concert Series and will be part of the fair's inaugural "throwback" night of entertainment.

"When you listen to classic country from the '70s and '80s era, you quickly realize how many artists were behind an unprecedented number of hit songs," Erie County Fair CEO Dennis Lang said. "It was an amazing time to be a country music fan. Whether you lived in the era or are a fan of modern country, you'll be sure to recognize the timeless music of these artists."

The Bellamy Brothers are an American pop and country music duo, originally from Florida, consisting of brothers David and Homer Bellamy. Starting in the late 1970s, the twosome found success in country music and pop charts, earning 20 No. 1 singles and more than 50 hits overall. In 1976, the brothers charted their first No. 1 single with the hit "Let Your Love Flow." Their song, "Old Hippie," was honored by Rolling Stone magazine as No. 95 in its list of the 100 greatest country songs ever recorded.

Conlee's career took off in 1978 with the song "Rose Colored Glasses," which was a top 10 hit on the Billboard hot country singles chart. His other hit singles included "Lady Lay Down," "Backside of Thirty," "Common Man," "I'm Only in It for the Love," "In My Eyes," "As Long As I'm Rockin' with You" and "Got My Heart Set on You." Conlee was honored with membership in the Grand Ole Opry in 1981. He still regularly performs on that stage.

"Throwback Thursday Night" featuring the Bellamy Brothers and John Conlee is free with gate admission to the Erie County Fair. No grandstand ticket is required for entry to the show.
