New board members at Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce

The Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce held a board of directors' orientation in January at the Center of Renewal at Stella Niagara.

New board of directors members include: Chuck Barber (Apple Granny Restaurant), Kyle Heath (KeyBank), John Kinney (Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours), Jennifer Martin (Ransomville Speedway), Judith Munzi (Antique to Chic), Christine O'Hara (alumni engagement, Niagara University), and Matthew Villnave (Lewiston Web Solutions). Jeff Baker (Baker Farms, LLC) was appointed to fill the agricultural position. O'Hara will also fulfill the first vice-chair position.

The morning session served as an opportunity for the board to outline its goals.

Guest speaker Natalie Beilein gave a presentation on personalities and behaviors using the Indigo Project model.

Chamber President Jennifer Pauly said she and her staff members are looking forward to a productive 2017.

"We are very excited about the experience and leadership qualities that our new directors bring to the board," she said. "We have changed our meeting model to focus on developing strategies for long-term growth of our region."

The board of directors meets once a month.

The Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce is a personalized chamber whose mission is to unify the region and to promote it as a premiere place to live, work and play. The organization is responsible for coordinating efforts in the marketing and promotion of tourism, business development, quality of life and the history and culture of the region, which encompasses Lewiston, Youngstown, Porter, Ransomville and Sanborn.
