The Youngstown Garden Club held a clean sweep on two local beaches in honor of Earth Day.
“We collected and counted trash on both Fort Niagara State Park and Porter on the Lake beaches on lovely Lake Ontario,” member Colleen Summerville said. “We were grateful for all who participated, and thankful for the Porter on the Lake beach committee for helping.”

Summerville said Garden Club volunteers collected nearly 40 pounds of garbage and debris from the two beach sites.
