Enter to win NFP's pumpkin-carving contest

 

October is the time of year when children and families artfully decorate pumpkins, and display these works for friends and neighbors. Now, your most decorative, scariest, funniest or craziest pumpkin designs can win you a great prize in the Niagara Frontier Publications pumpkin-carving contest.

 

OFFICIAL RULES

TO ENTER: Send us a photo of your best carved or decorated pumpkin. Submit the photo to this email address; follow us on Twitter (@wnypapers or @joshuamaloni) and tweet a photo to Niagara Frontier Publications ("NFP"); or submit your entry via U.S. mail (or in person) to Niagara Frontier Publications, 1859 Whitehaven Road, Grand Island, NY 14072.

Please include contact information (including address and phone number) with each entry. NFP will not sell or publicize addresses or phone numbers, send them to a third party, or use them in any other form of solicitation. Contact information is used solely to verify and contact prizewinners.

All photos are subject to be publicly displayed in print as part of the Niagara County Tribune-Sentinel and Island Dispatch newspapers, and online at www.wnypapers.com. Moreover, the winner will be named as part of any coverage related to this contest.

CONTEST DATES: (UPDATED) Contest runs from 8 a.m. (ET) Friday, Sept. 29, 2023, through 11:59 p.m. (ET) Tuesday, October 31, 2023. The contest is open to residents of the U.S. and Canada over the age of 18, or under the age of 18 with parental or guardian consent. Employees (full-time, part-time and freelance) of NFP, prize providers and their immediate families, are not eligible to enter or win this contest.

DETERMINATION OF WINNER:

1. From all the pumpkin contest entries submitted to Niagara Frontier Publications, the NFP staff will select its three (3) favorite entries. Each of these entries will be awarded an allotment of points based on ranking (first through third place).

2. Those top three entries will be posted on social media for a general public vote. Each of these entries will be awarded an allotment of points based on ranking (first through third place).

3. Extra points will be awarded for photos containing a decorated pumpkin with an accompanying person or pet in a Halloween costume.

4. The entrant/entry with the highest point total will be declared the winner. Second-most will finish second, and third-most will finish third.

One grand-prize winner will receive a prize pack valued at less than $75.

WHO CAN ENTER: Anyone from the United States or Canada over the age of 18, or under the age of 18 with parental or guardian consent, may enter. HOWEVER, prizewinners will be selected from the pool of entrants with Western New York addresses.

All decisions are final.

Winners will be notified on or about the first week of November 2023.

MULTIPLE ENTRIES: Multiple entries are permitted in this contest.

UNCLAIMED PRIZE(S): In the event any prize is not claimed or is forfeited, a new entrant will be selected for said prize.
