Niagara County announces completion of Porter Center Road Bridge project

Niagara County Legislator Irene Myers on Wednesday announced the replacement of the Porter Center Road Bridge over 6 Mile Creek in the Town of Porter is complete and the road will reopen to traffic by the end of the day, this Thursday, Nov. 12. The bridge, located just south of Braley Road, has been closed since July.

Town of Niagara Active Hose virtual learning picture day

The Niagara Active Hose Volunteer Fire Department converted its banquet facility into a virtual learning center for the children of active and social members to attend classes virtually, yet still in a routine, group setting. The fire chief and families felt it imperative that widespread contact be limited so that, in case of infection within the schools, there would be no increased risk of endangering the community or jeopardizing the firemen's ability to respond to calls.

CBS on Monday announced a target for all future unscripted programs to have casts with at least 50% of the contestants being Black, Indigenous and people of color (BIPOC), beginning in the 2021-22 broadcast season. The network will also allocate at least a quarter of its annual unscripted development budget to projects created or co-created by BIPOC producers, also starting in the 2021-22 season.
