The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets' division of food safety and inspection announced it has updated its food product recall book to provide New York retail food stores, food manufacturers and food businesses with "an easy-to-follow protocol to use should they need to initiate a product recall at their facility."

The Niagara County Office for the Aging (OFA) announced it has launched a new pilot program, in conjunction with Sunrise Café in Gasport, to offer senior citizens an affordable, quality lunch. Seniors can purchase a reduced-price voucher for a full lunch, and OFA funds will cover the difference with the restaurant.

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announced 30-year-old Marcus D. Edwards of Buffalo pleaded guilty this morning before State Supreme Court Justice Paul B. Wojtaszek to eight counts of aggravated vehicular homicide (class "B" felony). The defendant pleaded guilty to all counts in the indictment against him.

Stella Niagara Education Park, a coeducational elementary school in Lewiston, donated over 200 books valued at $1,933 to Damar Hamlin's Chasing M's Foundation.
