On Jan. 8, at approximately 7:33 p.m., the Niagara County Sheriff's Office communication center received a 911 call reporting a possible house fire at 3824 N. Ridge Road. Personnel and equipment from the Cambria Volunteer Fire Co. arrived on scene and confirmed a working fire on the second floor of the residence.

The New York State Department of Labor (NYSDOL) announced the expansion of the workplace violence prevention law (section 27-b of labor law) to elementary and secondary public education facilities is now in effect. These facilities must complete a workplace violence policy statement, a workplace risk evaluation, and a workplace violence prevention program by May 3.

Mount St. Mary's Hospital (MSMH) announced its Center for Sports Medicine & Physical Rehabilitation, now located at 1 Columba Drive No. 5 in Niagara Falls, will be moving on Jan. 15.
