Gov. Kathy Hochul visited the Delavan Grider Community Center in Buffalo on Tuesday, providing a briefing on efforts to combat the coronavirus. She expressed concern for this region, which ranked No. 2 in the state with an 8.52% seven-day average percentage of positive test results. The three-day average one year ago was 5.2%.

Hochul: $230 million in additional food assistance for New Yorkers in November

Gov. Kathy Hochul announced all New Yorkers enrolled in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program will receive the maximum allowable level of food benefits for November. All households participating in SNAP - including those already at the maximum level of benefits - will receive a supplemental allotment later this month, bringing in roughly $230 million in federal funding into the state's economy.

New York Secretary of State Rossana Rosado on Tuesday announced her approval of the Town of Porter Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP), which provides a step-by-step process to advance the town's waterfront planning from vision to implementation. Porter's LWRP was prepared in partnership with the Department of State and supported by $34,250 in grant funding from the Environmental Protection fund (EPF).

New York state requests additional federal funding for emergency rental assistance

Gov. Kathy Hochul announced New York State has requested $996 million in additional federal funding from the U.S. Department of Treasury for the Emergency Rental Assistance Program to help fulfill an unmet need among struggling tenants and landlords. Governor Hochul directed the state Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance - the agency administering New York's program - to apply for federal funding from reallocated sources sometime this fall.
