The North Tonawanda Neighborhood Watch announced this year's Dyngus Day parade will be led by grand marshal David "Bozo" Matecki. While discussing potential candidates, the committee said it was important to "find an individual who truly encapsulates the spirit of Dyngus Day. After a great deal of deliberation, there was really only one person who fit the bill, and his name is 'Bozo.' "

Today's national average price for a gallon of gasoline is $4.25, no change from last week. One year ago, the price was $2.86. The New York state average is 4.35, down 2 cents from last week. A year ago, the NYS average was $2.91.
Upcoming Grand Island Library raffle to feature colorful book pillows

Christa Regal has lived on Love Road for eight years. In that period of time, she said her neighbors have been unable to enjoy their backyards because of persistent drainage issues and copious amounts of standing water. "I'm just thankful that I have a raised little concrete patio that I am able to sit on. If it weren't for that little patio, I would have not been able to sit in the backyard at all."

Community Missions will hold its 25th annual Sweetheart Dinner, presented by United Healthcare, on Friday, April 1, at Sheraton Niagara Falls. COVID cases tick up in Erie, Niagara counties

The number of reported coronavirus cases in Erie and Niagara counties has gone up for the first time in several weeks. As of Wednesday, the seven-day average of cases per a population of 100,000 was 8.25%. The seven-day average percentage of positive test results reported over the past three days was 1.86%. One week ago, those numbers were 6.82% and 1.79%, respectively.
