NCDOH announces new smartphone app: Well Niagara

The Niagara County Department of Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services, in partnership with the Community Network of Care (CNOC) for Children & Families in Niagara County, is excited to announce the release of a new smartphone application. This app will serve as an innovative way for the department to connect with Niagara County residents, quickly providing information and resources to anyone with a smartphone.

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announced 36-year-old Vincent E. Smith of Niagara Falls pleaded guilty this morning before Erie County Court Judge James Bargnesi to one count of attempted criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree (class "D" felony).

Congressman Brian Higgins announced a three-year grant totaling $990,000 awarded to the PathStone Corp. His team said, "Funded by the U.S. Department of Education and awarded through the Transitioning Gang-Involved Youth to Higher Education program, the grant supports PathStone's efforts in Erie County to provide at-risk young people with the tools they need to achieve educational and career success."
