Niagara University and Medaille University have entered a "teach out" agreement to provide students from Medaille an opportunity to continue their academic studies at NU. Medaille, which announced it is closing as of Aug. 31, sent a letter to all of its students on behalf of Niagara University on Monday afternoon.

Gov. Kathy Hochul recently announced a plan to upgrade the Apollo Media Center in east Buffalo to support job training, youth programming and media production. New equipment will allow the Apollo to expand media education to city residents who own a business, and provide a safe creative outlet for young people to explore music and art, while also teaching skills in video production and coding to help familiarize them with media careers.

Gov. Kathy Hochul announced nearly $7.6 million will be provided to 21 animal shelters and humane societies across the state through the New York State Companion Animal Capital Fund, which is in its fifth round. Flynn announced 33-year-old Cortez Foster of Buffalo was sentenced this morning before Erie County Court Judge Suzanne Maxwell Barnes to 6 years in prison followed by 3 years of post-release supervision. He was sentenced today as a second violent felony offender.
