Chart-topping global superstar Niall Horan announced "The Show Live On Tour 2024," his biggest tour yet, and first headline run since 2018's "Flicker World Tour." He'll be performing songs from all three of his solo albums, including "The Show," which will be released by Capitol Records on June 9. The world tour will kick off on Feb. 21, 2024, in Belfast, U.K., at the SSE Arena.

Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino has summer ready to roll with an amazing weekend of outdoor music planned for August. The Western New York Regional Economic Development Council (WNYREDC) announced Canisius College president Steve K. Stoute, J.D., was appointed co-chair of the council. Stoute succeeds Dr. Katherine Conway-Turner, who served as co-chair since 2019 and will be retiring as president of SUNY Buffalo State University.

Gabby Bergstrom was a Grand Island High School sophomore in 2018 when she and fellow DECA members Luke Hess and Lauren Merletti were on a bus ride home from state competition. It was then they decided owning their own business could give them an edge in winning a state award. Using their cell phones to open craigslist, they found a hot dog stand at 1437 Ferry Road on the mighty Niagara River was available to rent.

Grand Island voters on Tuesday unofficially passed the $73,727,888 Grand Island Central School District budget for the 2023-24 school year. In addition, they approved a proposition to purchase five new vehicles for the school district (three 65-passenger buses, one 29-passenger bus, and two Ford F350 4x4 trucks for the Buildings and Grounds Department). Also, the voters approved the establishment of a new 15-year capital reserve fund to replace the fund that expired this year.

Niagara County Public Works Commissioner Garret Meal today announced the Legislature has approved the creation of a truck driver/CDL trainer and four new truck driver trainee positions in an effort to address the shortage of workers with commercial driver's licenses (CDL) across the county. A CDL is required to drive snowplows and heavy highway equipment used for roadwork and maintenance.

Gov. Kathy Hochul on Friday announced the opening of the 2023 navigation season for the 524-mile New York State Canal system, kicking off the 199th consecutive opening of the historic waterways. Locks and lift bridges on the Erie, Champlain, Oswego and Cayuga-Seneca canals will operate daily today through Oct. 11, providing opportunities for boating, fishing and sightseeing to tourists, canal enthusiasts and all New Yorkers.
