On Thursday, the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission board officially announced the selection of Kenneth N. Bieger to succeed Lew Holloway as the organization's next general manager, effective May 1. Bieger currently serves as chief financial officer for the NFBC and brings more than 35 years of professional management experience to the general manager position.
Wild Kritters to hold 11th annual basket raffle

Wild Kritters of Niagara County has been tending to wounded mammals, birds and reptiles for more than a decade. The organization is licensed by New York State and U.S. Fish and Wildlife to rehabilitate injured and orphaned wildlife. Its goal is to get the animals back into the wild, healthy, as soon as possible.

Lewiston Public Library to get new roof

Work is expected to begin Tuesday, April 18, on a $160,000 project to replace the two main roofs on the Lewiston Public Library. Progressive Roofing Inc. of Buffalo, the low bidder on the project, anticipates completing the work in about three weeks.
