The Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce will honor businesses and individuals at the annual Chamber Awards Gala on Friday, April 28, at the Conference & Event Center Niagara Falls. This is the second consecutive year the event is being held in Niagara Falls. It's due to the growth in event participation over the years.

In front of a loud crowd inside the "Lion's Den" at Lockport High School, the Lions defeated the first-place North Tonawanda Lumberjacks 61-51. With the win, Lockport sweeps the season series with North Tonawanda. The Lions are the only Niagara Frontier League team to beat NT twice.

Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo on Monday announced the grand opening of the new, $37 million DoubleTree Hotel by Hilton in downtown Niagara Falls. The project, which included the demolition of a portion of the former Fallside Hotel and Conference Center, along with the renovation of a four-story section of the building, connects to a newly constructed nine-story tower.
