Hundreds pay tribute at Greater Niagara Relay For Life

Hundreds were part of a special experience last weekend as the 2018 American Cancer Society's Greater Niagara Relay For Life took place from Saturday afternoon to Sunday morning at Reservoir State Park in the Town of Niagara.

Revitalized Niagara Power get first home win

After a two-year hiatus, the Niagara Power pulled off an 8-3 win against the Genesee Rapids at their home opener on Saturday, June 2. Starting pitcher Conrad Voss had seven strikeouts during the game, which remained tied 1-1 from the top of the third inning until the bottom of the sixth. That's when the Power scored five runs and finished off the victory.

As reported in last week's Sentinel, delays in construction of a new plaza on Center Street in Lewiston led the Zoning Board of Appeals to rule previously granted variances had expired. The ZBA's unanimous opinion is that construction should've begun on the project within one year of the granting of eight village code modifications - by late July 2017.
