Lewiston-Porter seventh-grade student Makenna Quarantillo staged a benefit concert Saturday at Matt's Music in North Tonawanda. The 13-year-old singer sought to raise funds for pediatric prosthetics. She did this as a tribute to her classmate, Gavin Burns.

Recently, officials from the Niagara River Greenway Commission met with Town of Grand Island committee members who are working on its trails and bike routes. They took a bicycle ride down Grand Island Boulevard to finalize a direct route through town to officially connect the extensive Niagara River Shoreline Trail from Buffalo's Outer Harbor north to Youngstown.

The interior redesign is, quite frankly, shocking, as the space that once housed teller windows, cubicles and a conference room now boasts a mural; an open retail design with designer clothing, shoes and jewelry; and a children's room brimming with toys and Lewiston-branded shirts.
