Grand Island resident Sarah Comfort has been attending Bible Presbyterian Church's Vacation Bible School since she was in fourth grade, first as a student, then as a helper. Now 34, the only summer she remembers missing the program was last year, when she worked at a summer camp in Ohio.

Chris Kreiger walked away from RealtyUSA Wednesday with a big check and an even larger donation. He received $815 from the Lewiston branch, which raised funds during its second annual basket auction. That donation is more than double the amount collected in 2014.

The Grand Island Father's Day Lawn Mower Race, Classic Car Show and Kevin Doring Memorial 5K Walk and 10K Run took place Saturday on Grand Island. Spectators came out to watch the unique racers, get a glimpse of the custom lawn mowers on display and raise money for a worthy cause.
