A work session included going through revenue line items, Highway Department and town clerk's office expenditures, and offering greater clarity on overall management and spending practices.

At a quarter to 8 p.m. Friday, about 100 people - mostly women, and many breast cancer survivors - joined together to form a "Living Ribbon" across the Rainbow Bridge in Niagara Falls. Participating in Hard Rock Café Niagara Falls USA's PINKTOBER celebration, these pink pashmina-clad people linked arms in the fight against breast cancer, and to show support for those fighting the loathsome disease.

Marie Edonyemya walked down a boat dock and filled a large bucket with water from the Niagara River, with the help of her husband, Byaombe Shabani. In front of a large group at the start of the Oct. 4 CROP walk at Beaver Island State Park, Edonyemya wrapped her head with colorful material, then Byaombe lifted the bucket and placed it on his wife's head.

Dark skies and rainy weather only added to the ambiance Saturday at Artpark as the venue hosted its first "Hay-Man Happening!" fall festival. After reviewing a number of issues, including yet-to-be-settled fire access at nearby River Walk, the Town Board went on to approve a modified final plat for French Landing - one that calls for completion of the entire "Wolf Run" project roadway in one phase (instead of two), and before any new residences can be built and certificate of occupancies granted.

At the recent Peach Festival, it was pouring, but nobody let the rain ruin their fun. There was plenty to do. Things like trying to win fish at the Lewiston Service Guild fishpond booth and getting food at the Kiwanis Peach Festival food tent.

The 2015 Autumn Festival, presented by the Sanborn Business and Professional Association, will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 3 and 4 at the Sanborn Lewiston Farm Museum, 2660 Saunders Settlement Road. This marks seven years for the event, said Bonnie Haskell, the museum curator.
