Lewiston: Keeping the ice rink open

As discussions wound up at Town Hall this week on Lewiston's $16.820 million 2017 tentative spending plan, town officials reported steps are now being taken to resurrect the Lewiston Family Ice Rink for the upcoming Lewiston Christmas Walk and holiday season.

In a very brief public hearing and special Town Board meeting for the 2017 budget, held Wednesday at Town Hall, the Town of Niagara officially approved the 2017 budget proposal originally revealed by Supervisor Lee Wallace early last month.

A small change on paper made a big difference Monday, as the Village of Lewiston Historic Preservation Commission approved a modified request by Hastings Lewiston Inc. to subdivide the property at 460 Center St. Commissioners voted 4-0 to grant a certificate of appropriateness, and to move the concept along to the Planning Board.
