Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Wednesday announced appointments are now available at 10 new state-run mass-vaccination sites across the state, including The Conference & Event Center Niagara Falls at 101 Old Falls St. All 10 sites will open Friday, March 19, and will operate from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. Each site will have the ability to vaccinate more than 1,000 New Yorkers daily, dependent on supply from the federal government.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Tuesday announced a new expansion of COVID-19 vaccine eligibility in New York. Beginning March 10, all New Yorkers 60 years of age and older will be eligible to receive the vaccine, while public-facing essential workers from governmental and nonprofit entities will be eligible beginning March 17. Niagara County Legislature Chairwoman Becky Wydysh and Director of Public Health Daniel J. Stapleton on Tuesday said it does not appear Niagara County will be getting the amount of vaccine doses it expected from New York state. The county ordered 6,500 doses of vaccine, including 5,000 of Johnson & Johnson. The county is still expecting a small supply of Moderna.
