Wheatfield board delays SCOPE, discusses flooding

As Wheatfield's Town Board delayed approval of the final SCOPE for the Environmental Impact Statement for Cobblestone Creek, residents from the surrounding area continued to present the board with evidence of drainage issues on and around their properties.

Saturday was a big day for 8-year-old Kyle Stoddard. With the help of his mother, Jen, and other family and friends, Kyle successfully held a fundraiser and toy drive for S.E.R.V. Niagara, an organization dedicated to helping veterans.

VOZ CYCLE City holds toy drive

VOZ CYCLE City is holding a bicycle/toy drive for WNY Heroes. Customers drop off toys and local businesses donate bicycles. So far, 22 bicycles and four tricycles have been collected.

The Town of Wheatfield held its annual Children's Halloween Party Saturday at the Wheatfield Youth Center. More than 400 families and upward of 200 children enjoyed the evening, which included an old-fashioned hayride, a bounce house, crafts, snacks and refreshments.

NCCC, SUNY Empire State announce partnership

Niagara County Community College President James P. Klyczek and SUNY Empire State College President Merodie A. Hancock announced Wednesday the two schools are partnering to offer students at NCCC's Niagara Falls Culinary Institute a pathway to earn a Bachelor of Science in business, management and economics, with a concentration in culinary management, from Empire State College beginning this fall.
