The Roman Catholic Diocese of Buffalo and the Movement to Restore Trust (MRT), an independent organization of Catholic laity formed to lead a movement to restore trust and confidence in the church in the wake of the clergy sex abuse scandal, jointly announce their ongoing partnership through the creation of a joint implementation team (JIT).
KeyBank, First Niagara Foundation proudly support, celebrate merger that will feed more in WNY

In recognition of the recent merger between The Food Bank of Western New York and Meals on Wheels for Western New York, KeyBank, in partnership with the First Niagara Foundation, is awarding a $25,000 proactive grant to applaud the nonprofit agencies for merging into a new entity called FeedMore WNY. The newly formed organization will share services and reduce expenses to increase food distribution over a larger geographical area and provide additionally enhanced programs to help even more people in the local community.

They were among 50 students nationwide who were chosen to attend the event, which attracted more than 1,500 exhibitors from 50 countries, representing packaged goods including cosmetics, skin care, and health and beauty brands.

Erie Canal Harbor Development Corp. held its second open house for the Outer Harbor Access and Activation Project. ECHDC presented three options for First Buffalo River Marina, Wilkeson Pointe to the bell slip, and terminal B. Attendees had an opportunity to comment on the options, provide feedback, and respond to a survey. The projects, funded by Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo's Buffalo Billion II, will enhance access and facilitate greater public use and enjoyment of Buffalo's Outer Harbor.

NYPA nears 3/4-mark in multiyear infrastructure upgrade at Lewiston Pump Generating Plant

The New York Power Authority announced that it is nearing the three-quarters mark in a $460 million infrastructure improvement project at its Lewiston Pump Generating Plant. The multiyear program allows NYPA to continue to provide low-cost power and power proceeds to businesses in Western New York and statewide tied to thousands of jobs and billions in capital investments that have positively impacted the state economy. The midpoint of the upgrades was announced by Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo in March 2017.

SPCA representatives, Estelle and Animal Cruelty Investigator Ryan Scott accepted a $2,500 donation from Niagara's Choice Federal Credit Union. The donation was from the proceeds of the Credit Union's annual golf tournament held this past August at the Frontier Golf Club.
