Congressman Brian Higgins announced a federal grant totaling $500,000 was awarded to the Community Health Center of Buffalo (CHCB). Funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and awarded through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Accelerated Cancer Screening program, the grant is designed to improve access to screenings and early detection in Western New York's underserved communities.

The limited supply of passes will be available online only at www.ECFair.org. Passes allow one adult gate admission per day of the Erie County Fair.

State Police issue more than 32,900 tickets during national DWI crackdown that ran through New Year's Day

Gov. Kathy Hochul announced the New York State Police issued 32,934 tickets and arrested 453 people for impaired driving during the national DWI crackdown, which started Wednesday, Dec. 14, and continued through New Year's Day Sunday. Troopers arrested 453 people for DWI, and investigated 4,417 accidents, which resulted in 528 people being injured and eight fatalities.
