Virtuoso reappointed to NCCC board of trustees

Gov. Andrew Cuomo recently reappointed Gina I. Virtuoso of Niagara Falls to a seat on the Niagara County Community College board of trustees. Virtuoso was initially appointed in 2009 and completed her first term in June 2016.
Ortt secures $150K to help retain Niagara Falls Air Base

New York State Sen. Rob Ortt, a member of the Standing Committee on Veterans, Homeland Security and Military Affairs, on Monday announced he secured $150,000 as part of the 2016-17 state budget to assist with retention efforts at the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station (NFARS).

Wheatfield postpones solar law approval

More Town of Niagara seniors may soon be eligible for a tax exemption. Officials discussed a revision in the town code that determines a tax exemption for seniors based on income level at a work session on Dec. 7 at Town Hall. The plan is to make the Town of Niagara's tax exemption codes consistent with those of Niagara County.

The Town of Niagara Town Board voted Tuesday to apply for a grant from the New York State Department of Transportation to construct sidewalks on Fourth Avenue. The estimated cost of the project is $670,933.
